Planning Poker
Simple web application to help estimating tasks, written in Elixir, using Phoenix Live View.
To test it run docker run --rm -p 4000:4000 invaern/planning-poker and visit http://localhost:4000.
Admin dashboard is available at http://localhost:4000/dashboard, user: admin password: nimda.

Customisation
There are few environment variables that you can set.
PORT - port on which application listens for HTTP connections. Defaults to 4000
AUTH_USERNAME - username for administration dashboard. Defaults to admin
AUTH_PASSWORD - password for administration dashboard. Defaults to nimda
ROOM_JOIN_TIMEOUT - after creating room, server will wait n minutes for someone to join. If after n minutes room is still e***y (no participants, nobody voted), then it will be removed. Defaults to 2
ROOM_TTL - maximum inactivity period in minutes. If there is no activity in a room for n minutes, then the room will be removed regardless of it's state (votes, participants). Defaults to 360
SECRET_KEY_BASE - used by Phoenix. Make sure it's long and random
URL_HOST - used by Phoenix to generate links and verify origin of connections. Defaults to localhost
SCHEME - either http or https, defaults to http. Closely related to URL_HOST
RELEASE_NODE - name or elixir/erlang node. Defaults to ppoker@127.0.0.1
RELEASE_COOKIE - cookie used by elixir/erlang node. Defaults to myverysecretcookie
RELEASE_DISTRIBUTION - how to run distribution. Defaults to name (long node name)
BEAM_PORT - port on which application is listening. Used to connect distributed nodes.

Deployment
If you decide to deploy this somewhere (i.e. AWS), make sure to change URL_HOST and SCHEME. For example, if application is running on domain https://my-planning-poker.com, then URL_HOST must equal my-planning-poker.com and SCHEME must be https. If these variables do not match, Phoenix will reject websocket connections due to invalid request origin.
Connecting to remote node
Application is running on Erlang/OTP 23 [erts-11.1.5], Elixir (1.11.2) - it's best to have the same version to avoid cryptic errors.
To be be able to connect to Elixir app running inside Docker, make sure to run Docker with network mode host (otherwise any ports you expose will be bound to bridge *** and epmd will reject connections).
Next, make sure there is no epmd running locally and tunnel required ports (4369 for epmd and 4001 for application):ssh -L 4369:127.0.0.1:4369 -L 4001:127.0.0.1:4001 user@my.remote.machine
Once the tunnel is running, you can run iex --name debug@127.0.01 --cookie myverysecretcookie - now you should be able to for example run :observer.start() and connect to node ppoker@127.0.0.1
