This image set was originally developed for internal use, where we wanted to auto deploy to OpenShift with minimal downtime
Usage
You'll need to set three environment variables at the bare minimum:
- GIT_SERVER - this is where your git server is on the internet, e.g. github.com
- REPO - this is the full slug to the repo, e.g. intel/nemu
- SSH_KEY - this is the SSH key you want the container to use for authentication to git. The key needs to be base64 encoded so as to preserve newlines and white space.
- BRANCH - this is optional. If you want to deploy a specific branch, add this to the environment
- SERVER_ENV - this is optional. By default we launch apps in production mode. Set this if you want to override it
- VERBOSE - this is optional. If you would rather APD is verbose, set this

We append APD=true to the environment when launching your rails application.
About SSL
This image supports SSL termination. You can configure this by adding your key and certificate in your repo as .ssl/server.key and .ssl/server.crt respectively
About Base64
The reason we base64 encode the SSH key is because docker has a habit of mangling keys by replacing newlines with spaces. You can base64 encode your key by doing this, and remembering to replace id_ed25519 with the correct path to your key:
cat id_ed25519 | openssl base64 | tr -d '\n'
