The repository contains a set of complete images with the Posit/R-Studio Workbench (Open Source version) application and multiple versions of R intended for Life Science GxP use and other regulated industries.
The containers are based on the https://hub.docker.com/repository/docker/openapx/rbatch container images. The rworkbench container image inherits 2 versions of R and the 160+ R packages for each that is provided by the rbatch container used as the build source.
The Posit/R-Studio version installed is the latest release for Open Source license. As this license only supports a single version of R, the latest R version is enabled as indicated by the symbolid link /opt/R/workbench. To enable a different version of R, either repoint the symbolic link or edit the rserver.conf file.
Getting Started
The simplest way to get started is to pull the latest build.
docker pull openapx/rworkbench:latest-ubuntu
The Posit/R-Studio Workbench service is currently lisenting to the default port 8787.
docker run -dit -p <port>:8787 openapx/rworkbench:latest-ubuntu
Currently only HTTP (not SSL) is supported. However, a standard configuration to support both HTTP and HTTPS is on the roadmap.
The container does not contain any default users. A test user can be created using the rworkbench adduser script.
docker exec -it <image> /opt/openapx/utilities/rworkbench_adduser.sh <user>
License
This container includes software from different sources that may have their own specific license. It is left to the user to ensure that the use of this container is in line with permitted use as set out in each individual license.
