From https://hub.docker.com/_/maven/ which includes Java, Maven, Git & SVN utilities. Ant, and Vim are added here. Based on https://github.com/psharkey/docker/tree/master/toolbox with DinD added.

Bash Example (without DinD running)

Simple example which opens a bash shell inside the toolbox container-

$ docker run --rm -it --name toolbox psharkey/toolbox-dind bash
root@1b8f4106bcb8:/#

Then, exit will stop the container and return to the host shell -

exit

Bash with DinD

Usage

With bash or other command specified DinD is not started.

With no command specified the supervisord.conf takes over:

Then docker exec can be used to execute other utilities:

Hello from Docker.
This message shows that your installation appears to be working correctly.

To generate this message, Docker took the following steps:
 1. The Docker client contacted the Docker daemon.
 2. The Docker daemon pulled the "hello-world" image from the Docker Hub.
 3. The Docker daemon created a new container from that image which runs the
    executable that produces the output you are currently reading.
 4. The Docker daemon streamed that output to the Docker client, which sent it
    to your terminal.

To try something more ambitious, you can run an Ubuntu container with:
 $ docker run -it ubuntu bash
