This Linux image contains python, Robot Framework, Selenium Library, Google Chrome and Chromedriver.

Prerequisites

1. Ensure that your Docker engine is running on Linux Containers. Right click the icon and choose Linux Containers if it is not.

Using the Image

Note that all tests must use the headlesschrome browser in order to run correctly in Docker, i.e.

• Within a test

  Open Browser https://www.google.com headlesschrome

• Or from the command line

  robot -d results --variable BROWSER:headlesschrome tests/example.robot

  Where the Open command is

  Open Browser https://www.google.com ${BROWSER}

Interactive Tests

Spin up a container with your source folder connected

• docker run --rm -it -v <project folder>:/usr/src/app skippy107/robotframework sh -l

Since the source folder is present we can use robot command to run any or all of the robot tests in the source folder

• robot -d /usr/src/app/results /usr/src/app/tests

Enter "exit" to close the container and remove it

CI/CD Command Line Test

Open the default command window on your local machine

Execute all local tests using the tools installed in the container

• docker run --rm -v <project folder>:/usr/src/app skippy107/robotframework
