Docker Image for Geoportal CMS

Building an Image

An image is being automatically build by the Docker Hub whenever a new push to this repo is detected.

Run your Container

Persistent Files and Directories

The following files need to be persistent as they contain all resources uploaded through the CMS:

ENV Settings

ENV variables will be set by CLI options (-e). The following variables are available

		SMTP_USER = Mail SMTP username
        SMTP_PASSWORD = SMTP password
		SMTP_HOST = SMTP Hostname
        SMTP_SECURE = SMTP security method (ssl, tls, none)
        SMTP_PASSWORD = Password to the smtp server
        SMTP_PORT = Port of the SMTP-Server
        MAILER = Mailing method (smtp, mail, sendmail)
		JOOMLA_DB_HOST = Database hostname
		JOOMLA_DB_USER = Database username
		JOOMLA_DB_PASSWORD = Database password
		JOOMLA_DB_NAME = Databasename
		LIVE_SITE = Live site url

Create the Container

docker run -d -t -i

Update Process

Updating the productive environment at AGI (Geoportal) uses a dedicated procedure. It contains the following elements:

• Content Freeze on the productive server
• Backing up the productive server
• Creating a dockerized version of the productive server (via backup)
• Updating the CMS with latest extensions / updates
• Commit updated changes and push to origin repo
• Add tag with unique version number (x.y) in origin repo
• If tag to respective commit is set, a new docker image will automatically build containing the tag rel-x.y
• Save a database dump of the updated databse
• Import the new database to the test server at AGI
• Pull the docker image with the updated files into Kubernetes for the test server
• Test the system on the test server
• Deploy from test to production
