This Docker image contains a pre-installed TiUP Playground environment, providing a simple local setup of the TiDB platform and related components.

How to Use This Image

To use the TiDB Playground provided by this image, you will need Docker installed on your machine. Once Docker is installed, you can pull and run the container as detailed below:

Pull the image from Docker Hub:

docker pull tendont52/tidb:7.5.0

To run a command inside a new container, use the following command: docker run -it --network="host" tendont52/tidb:7.5.0 playground --host=0.0.0.0 v7.5.0 --db 3

Understanding the docker run command Here's what the above docker run command does:

• docker run: Creates and starts a new Docker container.
• -it: This flag ensures that you're running Docker in interactive mode and attaches a terminal.
• --network="host": This tells Docker to use the host networking stack for this container, which gives the container full access to services listening on all ports on the host.
• tendont52/tidb:7.5.0: This is the name (and version tag) of the Docker image to run.
• playground --host=0.0.0.0 v7.5.0 --db 3: These are the arguments passed to the tiup command run inside the container. In this case, it's telling tiup to start the TiDB playground environment with the TiDB version 'v7.5.0' and starts 3 instances of the TiDB database.
