Description

This repository contains a Dockerfile for the kafka Docker image, available at registry.pulsepoint.com/kafka. The image contains Kafka and mostly it is used by Kafka brokers and by Kafka Cruise Control.

Legacy Branch

This repository also contains Kafka Cruise Conrol Web UI in this branch, which should be relocated to a dedicated GitHub repository, because it does not have much common with this Docker image.

How To Change

1. git checkout master && git pull origin master;
2. git checkout -b $ticket_id;
3. do your changes;
4. git add -A && git commit -m '[$ticket_id] description of the changes;
5. choose a tag for the image - in case of doubts use the latest one and add 1 to the pp part of the version e.g.: latest is 2.0.1-pp5, the next one will be 2.0.1-pp6, so do export img_tag='2.0.1-pp6';
6. cd .. && sudo docker build --tag=registry.pulsepoint.com/kafka:${img_tag} docker-kafka; cd -;

How to Publish

7. git tag ${img_tag};
8. sudo docker push registry.pulsepoint.com/kafka:${img_tag};
9. git push --tags origin $ticket_id and create a PR to merge your branch to master.
